Prof. Isaac Ongubo Kibwage is the Vice-Chancellor of Egerton University, where he leads institutional policymaking and strategic implementation. A widely published Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Nairobi (currently on leave), he previously served a decade as Principal of its College of Health Sciences (2007–2017). During his tenure at UoN, he oversaw academic, financial, and administrative operations across multiple health schools and institutes, successfully quadrupling research funding, maintaining top-tier performance ratings, and earning the college recognition as an EAC "Center of Excellence in the Health Sciences" in 2014. Beyond academia, he served six years as Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya, specializing in pharmaceutical regulatory systems and medicine quality assurance—contributions that earned him both the Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (FPSK) title and the Head of State Commendation (HSC).
